The Career Navigation Collaborative is a statewide movement that brings practitioners together to leverage their shared expertise to build a culture of guidance, one student, one conversation, one well-prepared advisor at a time. 

Practitioner Led: Counselors, CTAE directors, teachers, secondary and post-secondary advisors and leaders across Georgia – working together to define and design best practices for advisement.  ​​

From Task Based to Developmental: Shifting the advisement process from scheduling and compliance to ongoing, intentional conversations that help students connect their strengths, interests, and values to real opportunity. ​

Initiative v. Movement: Communities choose to participate. The Collaborative is designed for adopting practices that are grounded in research, informed by bright spot examples already happening in GA, and where practitioners help lead the way. 

 

Schools cannot do this alone, and they shouldn't have to. Instead, practitioners will work together to improve career advisement in Georgia by: ​

Defining what advisement is & why it needs continuous improvement​

Defining what quality advisement in Georgia looks like & does​

Determining best practices & where they are in place already ​

Identifying barriers & root causes for quality advisement not being available to all Georgia students ​

Innovating & implementing solutions ​

Measuring success​

Advocating for continuous improvement ​
